Project Value: £3.5m
Located on Bishopswood Road in Highgate within the London Borough of Harringay, the school is an independent co-educational school for 4 to 18 year olds, with 1400+ pupils across three campuses; Junior, Senior and Pre-Preparatory.
The pre-preparatory classroom extension is three storeys with a partial basement and a covered play area to the ground floor.
The works comprised of demolition and site clearance, piling and RC frame, cavity wall brickwork with ashlar dressings, insulated render, composite windows and green & blue roof with full internal classroom and library fit out. Other key features of the project include a rooftop conservatory, first floor extension to the south elevation and a covered play area with feature external spiral staircase.
The project is also challenging due to being adjoined to Grindal House (Pre-Preparatory School). Our programme and methodology took the constraints of working within a live school environment into account and we ensured minimal disruption was caused to the School and the safety of pupils and the public was maintained.
