On behalf of Legal and General and Wrenbridge, Curo Construction have begun construction works at the exciting new 107,866sq ft Gateway Cambridge Industrial development set across five acres in North West Cambridge.
The scheme will involve the construction of 4 new industrial warehouse buildings, subdivided into 8 units fitted with open plan first floor office spaces. Located next to Junction 25 of the A14 with excellent transport links to the M11 and A1 and nearby amenities including Costa Coffee and Tesco Extra, this high-quality development has been designed to promote productivity and wellbeing.
The BREEAM Excellent rating development has goals to achieve Carbon Zero and EPC A+ ratings and is being built with sustainability and longevity in mind. Energy and water consumption, waste management and carbon reduction has been carefully considered and the development has been designed to optimise efficiency and keep running costs low through qualities such as internal and external LED lighting, office motion detectors and daylight-saving controls. The units have been developed with renewable features that suit changing business and market needs including electric car charging points, 50% Photovoltaic coverage with the ability to increase capacity and Planet Mark accreditation.
The scope of works includes the completion of cladding works, structural glazing and curtain walling, external services, foul and surface water drainage services, ground works including new parking, tarmacs and foot paths and porcelain tiling to ground floor lobby areas, carpets to stairs and cap & cove vinyl to wet areas, installation of security fencing, fire protection works, M&E service installation, joinery works and decoration to office spaces.
